learning from the daytime soaps

One side-effect of breast feeding is that I'm watching a lot more TV (and also phoning & reading more) as there's only so many things you can do while sitting still. When I've planned badly - which happens at least once a day - the remote control / phone / vomit catching towel is not to hand when I need it. This means that occasionally I end up unintentionally watching some random tv. This evening it was a british soap called Family Affairs. I mention this because, despite having no clue what any of the sub-plots was about, I did learn something about myself from this particular program. There was a scene where a fraught looking woman holding a baby of approximately MiGs age (though I think it was supposedly younger judging by the plot line) said something like "sometimes I wish he'd never been born". And I thought to myself: I never think that! It doesnt matter how much he has cried (on a couple of occasions) or vomited/peed on me or caused me to not do things that I fancied doing, I'd still pick MiG any day! I'm soooo glad he was born!
